@Doctor-Phibes said in RNZ Interview with Michael Levitt: I know we're only hearing about the bad cases, but there are a lot of those, it seems. There are also plenty of people not dying but getting really sick, and if hospitals are overwhelmed, then it seems likely that a lot more of these people will die, which is what we're trying to avoid, after all. Agree with this. Plus, as bad as things are, does anybody still really think that things would have been better if there were no lockdowns/stay at home orders?? I just think things would have been so much worse.

I just have folders in my bookmarks. I started with one recipes folder then last week I had to reorganize them because it took too long to look through. Now I have a dozen or more subfolders.

@Rich It was close to 80 when I ran. This is a lightweight cover intended to act as a sunblock. Compared to a true mask, it is much lighter and infinitely easier to breathe - but it is obviously not contoured to the face so it is not protective the way a mask might be - so social distancing is important. I don't think it possible to run with an N95 mask. info on face shield

I think we're allowed to assume that people are showing up to work there. And the kids are in school. It's an example of that.

@Loki said in Iowa governor tells folks to go back to work or risk losing unemployment benefits.: There’s no more free money to hand out folks. Hah. As if there was free money available 6 weeks ago.

@jon-nyc said in Funding the Virus Lab: Yeah I'd love to know the details. Is this still a townhall-powerline-daily caller thing or has FoxNews or the NYPost picked it up? That’s a good point, not that the FoxNews or NYPost makes it legit but at least puts pressure on the rest to look into and see if they can safely duck it.

@Axtremus said in Nostalgia, the good old days ...: @George-K said in Nostalgia, the good old days ...: Again, to be fair, Trump lets his mouth run faster than his brain does, ... If only Trump stops at letting his mouth run faster than his brain. This is a common misconception. His brain is so fast it keeps up with his mouth. The problem is that most listeners brains can't keep up.

Ultimately lives are the measure of this event. Someday, not any time soon, that is how they will be compared. Of course the economic impact of this will probably turn out to be the most disruptive aspect. This event will be compared to 9/11 and World Wars in it's lasting influence.
